Winter Storage Requirements

Parking the reel on its bracket does not constitute winter storage. The 2024 manual explicitly states that these reels are not frost-proof. To prevent frost damage, the instructions require removing the unit from the wall entirely before winter. Before transporting the reel, the hose must be emptied of water. Once removed, it should be stored out of children's reach according to the published safety guidance. Distinguishing Article 8050 from 8050-28

A newer product, the Wall-mounted Hose Box RollUp 25 carrying article number 8050-28, also features a wall bracket that pivots 180 degrees and sits close to the wall after use. Its product specification confirms it lacks frost protection. However, 8050-28 is a different article number from the manual's 8050. The winter removal and emptying steps detailed above come from the 2024 manual for this family of reels. Owners of the 8050-28 or any other model must consult their own purchased product's documentation for exact off-season procedures.
